![]() Now I'm at the part where you need to upgrade the radio to contact Highroad, and I've held off doing it because I can still rescue soldiers and civvies without getting swarmed with new HVT missions, so I'm taking advantage of the time to scavenge and fortify a bit more, since this will probably be the last chance I have to work without time limits. ![]() I also made sure to set up outposts at a few of the Sat uplinks, so I can hopefully get some use out of drone/artillery/sniper support later (none of which I had on the last play-through after things went to shit). I'm not sure how you level up the shooting ability for Hawkes, but I'll look into that.Īfter doing all of this stuff, I was able to rescue the next HTV and a few civvies pretty easily, and having the outposts set up early on really seems to help with crowd control. The I switch to melee to be as quiet as possible, because every time Kilo breaks out his unsilenced shotgun it brings more running. Don't know how well it works since the early sieges aren't that tough, but we'll see.Ĥ)I did try shooting a lot more, and it does make things easier until the silencer runs out. No screamers, no juggernauts, NO FUCKING FERALS.ģ)I also scavved a few grenade launchers and gave them to people around the base, set command center to find survivors and brought back close to a dozen soldiers, and went around setting up my outposts before I went to rescue that first HVT (I mean, guy's gonna blow his brains out anyway, what's the rush?)ģ)I also tried the other post's tip about blocking the inside of the gates with cars. There are still a lot of zombies, but nowhere near the numbers you constantly run into later in the game, and no specials attacking you, other than maybe the occasional bloater. (Once the sieges started, I still am always low on ammo, but now I can focus on ammo for the drops and not have to use them on other categories). I maxed out my materials stockpile after about an hour or so of scavenging, and got the rest of the stockpiles to a comfortable level too. There doesn't appear to be any time limit for rescuing this first HVT, and you still have 2 guys backing you up, so I went to every neighborhood in the map (other than the one containing the HTV, so as to not kick off the mission early) and grabbed everything I could, focusing mostly on construction materials and ammo, since that was what I was always running out of. So far what I've done is:ġ)before going to the LZ at the beginning, look around and scavenge, load up a truck and your inventory as much as possible before going to the base.Ģ)When fully loaded, go to the base and drop your shit off, which will kick off the mission to rescue the first HVT.ģ)Next, I went all over the map gathering supplies. Is there an actual end game in sight at this point, or should I just start over? It seems like this cycle has just been repeating for hours with nothing new to show for it.Īctually you can early on in the game - I found some excellent tips in this post and tried them in a new game last night and it went suprisingly well. But I keep losing too many people and spending more influence than I can earn trying to hold things together. So now she's trying to save the world one refugee at a time from her radio show at the base, and I'm trying to keep her alive and rescue civvies when I can. ![]() But I did manage to save that Vienna Cho bitch, even though I want to shoot her in the face because all she ever does is talk shit, even when I occasionally manage to save one of the civvies. Lost most of my men, and most of the civvies I tried to rescue, because this fucking game is just a non-stop relentless overwhelming shit show of death. Lost Sasquatch on his last mission, so I guess no Nuke option. Lost most of the HVT's I tried to recover (half of them due to bugs, like them not getting into the fucking car to leave) and haven't gotten any more in a long time.
